Most of the Really Hard Work is done now, at least from a certain perspective. Pretty much as many fixtures as we can possibly fit into our compact space have arrived from places far flung and otherwise (for instance the two pieces that sat in El Paso for two weeks waiting for a truck that had other deliveries in this area). Everything is unpacked, assembled, hung up, and displaying our wares.
We more or less know how to use our POS by this point, though we are still transitioning to using UPCs and our scanner. We are very close to having most of what we need together to start doing some printing.
Inside the store, our varied and eclectic tastes continue to show, and we enjoy filling the racks with new and unique items. We are looking forward to July 4th, less than two weeks away now.
We’ve got some great gifts and essentials for July Fourth. Who wouldn’t love one of these cool (and very roomy) totes to carry around all the gear you need to enjoy the Holiday Weekend in Fort Davis. We are so excited. Last year we had just moved back to Fort Davis and were disappointed when the 4th was not what we remembered here due to Covid-19.
This year, while sadly there wont be fireworks, there is so much more on the schedule. We’ll be setting up out front with goodies and cold drinks so we don’t miss a minute. We hope you’ll stop by and say hi!
I’ve been reflecting a lot on what direction I would like to see the store go, and listening closely to the comments and remarks of our customers and visitors to Somewhere Over the Rainbow. If anyone has suggestions or ideas, I would certainly love to hear them.
In the meanwhile, enjoy the unfolding of this beautiful summer we are having. We are so grateful for the rain these last couple of days. And grateful to be back Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
