Essential Aromatics
It always makes me feel good when customers come into the shop and immediately ask what ‘smells so good?‘ Truth is, there are all sorts of great smelling goodies at Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
We carry a wide selection of incense, resins, candles, room and linen sprays, and the very versatile, Essential Oil.
And this is the main reason the shop always smells (and I think, Feels as well, so Good). I have a diffuser that I use daily, choosing the Oil not only to smell good, but often to address our moods or how we’re feeling in the Morning. If seasonal allergies are being an issue, I often put in a few drops of Eucalyptus, Peppermint or Lavender. For a headache, I might go with Rosemary, Lavender or Sandalwood. During the winter months, I often use Four Thieves (or Gurus), Tea Tree Oil or one of the immune enhancing blends.
No matter what I decide on, the whole store smells fresh and wonderful.
About Our Essential Oils
We carry a brand called Plant Therapy in our store. Their high quality oils are Certified Safe, Cruelty Free and tested for Quality. This company is committed to maximizing Sustainability in production and packaging. All of these things are very important to us also, so the product is a good fit.
We carry a number of the more popular single ingredient oils like lavender, peppermint, lemon and orange, wintergreen, tea tree and bergamot. We also stock a good selection of specialty blends like Travel, Meditation, Balance or Germfighter. And for fun and stimulating aroma, you might try Chocolate Truffle, Peach Artemesia or Fresh Picked Citrus.
For Spiritual Growth and Enhancement
We also carry a more esoteric selection of products based on essential oils. If you’re zodiacally inclined, and adversely affected by the retrograde action of the Communication Planet like so many, there’s an oil for that. Plant Therapy’s Mercury Retrograde is blended with peaceful grounding and open communication in mind. Clary Sage and Texas Cedarwood, along with other oils like Mandarin, Cypress and Roman Chamomile creates a soothing and calming atmosphere.
We recently began stocking some of the pre-diluted blends in roll-ons aimed at balancing and activating the energy centers (Chakras) of the subtle body. These oil blends can be applied to pulse points or the area of the body corresponding with each specific Chakra quite safely. There is a formulation for each of the seven chakric centers.
(Note: always be very cautious about using pure essential oils on the skin. Most should be diluted in a carrier oil like coconut, jojoba or avocado oil. There are a number of others as well. It is recommended that you do a patch test before applying the blended essential and carrier oil widely. Allergies to any of these substances are possible.)
