Off the Beaten Track But Worth the (Short) Ride
Earlier this week I took a 5 minute ride out Cemetery Road (East off of State Street) to Bella Vista and visited with proprietor Marcia Davis. Whereas you have to get off of the main road in Fort Davis and drive the 1.8 miles (Google tells me I could walk it in 34 minutes; an interesting idea 😉 ) it is a happy side-track.
This charming gift shop needs to be Seen. The short drive out is pleasant and scenic. The shop itself commands a view that most would envy. It is so pretty out there. On the Deck, festooned with rustic decor, ceramic bells, plants and pots, and gorgeous wreaths, you get a vista of the surrounding mountains that just can’t be had from town.
Marcia has stocked the store not only with her own gorgeous floral wreaths, arrangements and creations, but absolutely the best selection of gift ideas I’ve seen anywhere in West Texas so far. You don’t have to drive to Odessa or Fort Stockton to find the perfect gift for a friend or family member; for an anniversary, a wedding or a shower. This wonderful shop is right here in Fort Davis.

Another Treasure in Fort Davis
I am so impressed with this little shop just a little ways down the road from Downtown Fort Davis. It is lovely, and handy, and a feast for the Eyes and other Senses.
Besides, I think we all need to stray from the path sometimes. There are adventures to be had, and Rainbows.
